Sucre

Sucre, located in the southern highlands of Bolivia, enjoys a mild subtropical highland climate. Temperatures remain comfortable throughout the year, with average minimums ranging from 5°C to 10°C and maximums between 18°C and 22°C. Rainfall is concentrated in the wet season, from November to March, peaking in January with around 120 mm. The dry season, from May to August, sees minimal precipitation and cooler nights, making it an ideal time to explore Sucre’s colonial architecture and historical sites.

La Paz

La Paz, Bolivia's high-altitude capital, experiences a cool subtropical highland climate with average minimum temperatures ranging from -1°C in the coldest months (June-July) to 4°C in the warmer months. The maximum temperatures vary between 13°C and 16°C throughout the year. Rainfall is more abundant from December to February, reaching up to 120 mm per month. During the dry season (May to August), the city receives less than 10 mm of rain. This climate makes La Paz a great destination for cultural exploration and high-altitude adventures.

Uyuni

Uyuni, located in the Bolivian highlands, experiences a cold desert climate with large temperature fluctuations throughout the year. Minimum temperatures can drop as low as -4°C in winter months (June-July), while daytime temperatures typically rise to 17°C in the summer months (December-February). Precipitation is minimal throughout the year, with slightly higher rainfall in the summer months (up to 40 mm), and very dry conditions in winter, with rainfall around 5 mm. This unique climate is perfect for visiting the famous Salar de Uyuni, where the weather conditions create a striking contrast of vast salt flats and clear skies.

Potosì

Potosí, located at a high altitude in the Bolivian Andes, has a cold climate with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. The minimum temperatures often dip to -5°C during the winter months (June-July), while daytime highs typically hover around 16°C. The city experiences relatively low rainfall throughout the year, with precipitation peaks of around 50 mm in the summer months (January-February) and minimal rain in the dry season (June-August). This climate makes Potosí a great destination for historical and cultural exploration, particularly its colonial architecture and the nearby Cerro Rico mountain, historically known for its silver mining.

Rurrenabaque

Rurrenabaque, situated in the Bolivian Amazon Basin, has a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round. Minimum temperatures average around 19–22°C, while maximum temperatures range from 28–32°C. Rainfall is highest during the wet season (December–March), peaking at over 450 mm per month, while the dry season (May–August) sees significantly less precipitation, often below 100 mm per month. This climate makes Rurrenabaque an ideal starting point for exploring the Madidi National Park and Pampas, offering exceptional opportunities for wildlife viewing, river tours, and rainforest trekking.
